Meet Grace! A 2018 graduate of Northeastern University with a BS in Business Management, Grace has always loved being in and around the water. Her love of swimming started at an early age and she began swimming competitively at seven years old. She continued to swim competitively through high school at Choate Rosemary Hall, where she was the recipient of the Bob Burns Award for Excellence in Swimming her junior year.

Grace has extensive experience teaching lessons to children and adults of all ability levels. She has been teaching on Nantucket for the last six years with Swim with Grace, conducting thousands of cumulative lessons. Her past experience includes years of group and private lessons taught at the Middlebury, VT Town Pool where she was also a lifeguard. Grace also has a year of experience as a Nantucket Lifeguard where she patrolled all the town beaches. Grace desires to share her love of the water with others and help them feel safe, comfortable, and confident no matter the aquatic environment.

Swim with Grace was started in 2018 from Grace’s love of swimming and desire to have fun in the sun!

Bella Cutone, Nantucket Coach

Meet Bella! Bella is a recent graduate from University of New Hampshire where she earned a master's degree in occupational therapy. Born and raised on Nantucket she has been competitively swimming since she was ten years old and continued throughout high school. She is a passionate staff member and volunteer with Nantucket S.T.A.R. where she supports children and young adults with diverse needs through adaptive sports and activities. Bella is known for her enthusiastic and bubbly personality, creating a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment where swimmers of all ages and abilities can feel safe and supported. Whether she’s helping new swimmers build confidence or cheering on their little victories, Bella brings heart, humor, and joy to every moment in the water.


Finn Rosenbaum, Nantucket Coach

Meet Finn! Finn graduated from Brunswick School and is now part of the 2029 class at Tulane University. A returning coach to the SWG team, Finn has been swimming nearly his entire life. He has been a competitive swimmer and played water polo for the last 11 years. He annually comes to Nantucket over the summer and enjoys surfing on the beautiful beaches. Finn has also participated in Swim Across America to raise money for cancer for the last 5 years and will continue to do so this year! Finn joins the SWG team for a third summer and is excited to teach others how to not only be safe and confident in the water but also have fun! If you cannot find him, he is probably at the beach!


Declan Vargas, Nantucket Coach

Meet Declan! Joining the SWG team from Summit, New Jersey, is Declan! His competitive swimming journey began at age 5 on a local summer team, and he began competing year-round with the Summit Area YMCA (SAY) club team at age 8. Ten years later, he is proud to serve as captain for both SAY and the Summit High School swim team, as well as compete on the YMCA National Team. Next year, he is excited to continue his swimming career on Georgia Tech's club team. And more excited to join the SWG team this summer, greatly looking forward to sharing my passion for swimming and coaching across Nantucket!


Lainey Howarth, Martha’s Vineyard Coach

Meet Lainey! Lainey is from Fairfield Connecticut and is going to be a rising junior at Lauralton Hall, where she is on the varsity swim and lacrosse teams. Lainey has been a competitive swimmer since she was six years old and currently competes for Lauralton Hall where she has been a state finalist since her freshman year. Outside of the high school season Lainey swims for Fairfield Aquatics where she competes competitively. Lainey is excited to share her passion for swimming with others, helping them improve their strokes safely while also having fun. Lainey has been coming to the Vineyard her whole life and is really looking forward to sharing what she loves with others.


Ava Wilson, Martha’s Vineyard Coach

Meet Ava! Originally from California, and an incoming sophomore at Santa Barbara City College, but planning to transfer over to UC Santa Barbara by next year. Ava has been spending all her summers on Martha’s Vineyard since she was little. This is my first summer on the SWG team! She has been competitively swimming since she was 8 years old and became a swim coach at 15. She has been coaching swimming for over 4 years. She has plenty of experience working with and coaching swimmers of all ages. Helping them learn strokes and saftey while always making sure they’re having fun doing so. She loves connecting with children through swimming by always making things fun!


William Pollock, Martha’s Vineyard Coach

Meet Will! Originally from Natick, Massachusetts, Will has been spending his summers on Martha’s Vineyard since he was a baby. This fall, he’ll be attending Sacred Heart University as an incoming freshman studying Business. Will has been competitively swimming for 12 years and swam on his high school swim team throughout high school. He started coaching for club swim at 13, and has doing youth swim lessons ever since. In addition to coaching, Will works as a camp counselor at the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, where he spends his days helping campers have fun and make the most of their summer. He loves building connections and creating a positive, encouraging environment both in and out of the pool.
